Ellen was born in Taiwan and worked in the financial industry for around 12 years. She discovered her passion for painting during her junior high school years, when she got her first lessons. After that she studied Business. There was a period she liked to play Paper-clay art after office hour and sold some of her works.
In the year 2008, she relocated to The Netherlands accidentally (thought… perhaps under the fate) and to start painting again. She took and takes still master class at Academy of Fine Arts. She likes to use the same painting techniques as the European Old Master painters of the 17th and 18th century. Atmosphere, realism and subtlety take an important place in the painting.
There is no boundary in art. She likes to be in nature, visits art exhibition and learns from different aspects. These experiences enrich her in her paintings and daily life.
